In last Tuesday's class our activity included using four different types of internet tools. These tools were Twitter,Blogger,Web page and Prezi. I would classify all these tools as web 2.0 because all the websites allow for interactivity.
Twitter is a website where you can go and post what I would consider a status. You then have the choice to follow other people's pages. You can re-tweet other people's statuses so that your followers can see them or comment on someones status by @mentioning them. Something I learned last Tuesday was the hash tag(#). I had seen the list of trending topics on the website and the segment on hash tags that Jimmy Fallon does on his show but I never knew that if you click on the hash tag you can view all the statuses that contain the hash tag.
Blogger is something that I never knew existed before this class. I had heard of blogs but never thought I would ever have one or contribute to one. Blogs can be private or made public. If it's public then anyone can read what you write and comment on it. They could also copy the link to your blog then share it with other people.
Prezi is a website used for presentations. It's an alternative to Microsoft PowerPoint. This website allows you and others to access presentations from any computer. People can comment on your presentation and also 10 people can edit the presentation at a time. This tool is good for a small group but can cause problems with large groups like it did in our class. Many people were unable to do the assignment for awhile or even at all because there were always 10 people signed on.
The website we had to use last Tuesday was pretty static but it allowed for interactivity because it gave the user the ability to pick which ever website they wanted to click on. This made it so every user had a different experience.
