Google Docs


Google Docs is an interesting program because it allows for easy broadcasting over the Internet and interactive communication.  The purpose of Google Docs is to allow groups to edit a common document, and/or broadcast a document.  The audience therefore is very varied; it can range from an individual to small or large group, and encompasses people of different ages that share a common purpose for using Google Docs.  The knowledge level for Google Docs is medium to low, as long as you are knowledgeable on how to work with Word documents, spreadsheets and presentations.  Google Docs had different attributes such as text, in documents or spreadsheets, as well as visuals and motion such as videos in presentations.

Google Docs allows users to upload documents that were previously written, or to create new documents.  Recently, Google has updated the ability of Google Docs, so that documents can be viewed offline.  Google Docs is an Internet based program.  Being able to view the document while not connected to the Internet is very useful.  Also, the user can take their edited documents and download them back onto their desktop. 

Google Docs offers easy interactive communication.  The user is able to share the document with others and give them the ability to either view or edit the document, as well.  Also, users are able to chat in real time with the other people editing the document.  The interaction can be high or low, depending on the users specific purpose for creating a Google Doc.  Broadcasting the document over the Internet because it can be published as a webpage.  It can also be uploaded to a social site, blog, or e-mailed out to contacts.
