TwitLonger for Twitter

Twitter has become a very useful and popular social network in the last few years. There are millions of users on Twitter, which allows for many people to connect with each other and read each others' updates constantly. Celebrities, athletes and even schools have used Twitter to get important information out. Suny Albany also has a Twitter provide students with important news and event going on around campus.

Although it is a brilliant concept, the unfortunate part is that Twitter has a limit of 140 characters you can type in a single tweet. Twitlonger is an easy way to post long messages to Twitter without the need to write a blog post. TwitLonger, created by Stuart Gibson, is a tool used in Twitter that gives you the option of typing more than those 140 characters. Sometimes people have a lot to type but Twitter will prevent them from getting it all out in a single tweet. I have seen this on Twitter when someone goes beyond the 140 characters and there are multiple tweets that are all connected. Sometimes the tweets end up scattered all over the place on the timeline because other tweets cut in. This makes it very annoying to read it as one continuous tweet. With TwitLonger you can write whatever you need and a link will be posted on your Twitter with the full tweet in it. It is very similar to the tool "TwitPic" which gives a link to a picture in a tweet. This is a good way to not have dozens of Tweets all over all your follower's timeline but still get your point across.

TwitLonger allows for a more formal way to post long tweets. It is a lot more appealing to see one link on a tweet than multiple tweets that a reader must connect themselves. The good part about this tool is that it is very easy to use, you just click on TwitLonger log into your account, type what you need in the text box just like you do on Twitter and simply click post. It is a simple way to save space and confusion when tweeting. Overall I wish many people I follow on Twitter used this app more because of the inconvenience they provide when posting multiple tweets that should be connected into one.
