Path

Social networking has virtually taken over our society. Everything we do, say, and even where our current location is can be captured and posted on social networking sites. There are many things we want to share with people however most of the time we do not want to share all information with everyone in our network. Privacy settings help to block certain information from certain people as well as increase our internet safety but these settings often change and expose things we do not want. Path is a social networking site were private is the default setting only those close friends and family can see what you upload onto your Path.

Path is similar to Facebook because you are able to upload videos, pictures, say what's on your mind and also allow people who follow your Path to know your current location. What is different about Path is that it is for your mobile phone. Any smartphone owner can have a Path and update it as their day progresses. Path is aimed at your close friends and family but a great feature about Path is that anything that you post onto your Path can also be posted into websites Facebook, twitter, tumblr, or four square. You have the option of what you want to share and how much you want to share.

Path also allows you to share who on your Path you are with and tag them when you update your location. Everything you do is also on one page so it is easy to access and see things when you update our Path and when you look at other peoples Paths. You can also give feedback on events going on in friends Paths by smiling, frowning, or winking at their activity.

Path increases your Internet safety by keeping things private. When you google your name your path will not come up because it is private on your mobile phone and on friend and family's phones. Also Path is in between a web 2.0 and 3.0. It allows you to update your current location and share with friends but it does not take your information and make suggestions as to who you should connect with or things you should buy. It's site is very appealing to the eye and easy to maneuver. I believe path is a great way to connect with those close to you and to make sure your privacy is protected.
