The Experience Project

The Experience Project is a unique website that allows its users to read about the experiences of others and share their own amongst 24 different categories. The Experience Project is one of the newest social networking websites which focuses primarily on having its users connect with other users based on their experiences. Many social networking sites focus on sharing your personal information such as gender, age, and relationship status. However, the Experience Project strides for people to connect with one another by sharing experiences in an effort to gain a deeper understanding about life. The site is set up in an open forum and people are not required to share any of their personal information. This allows people to connect with others without feeling timid or afraid to share their knowledge with others.

When you navigate through the various categories, I was intrigued to notice how open and honest some experiences were. Currently, the site has over 12 million experiences and is rapidly expanding. Some experiences are very deep and personal while others simply state personal preferences and range in subject from, “I am in love” to “Holiday’s what a Joke!” The various categories allow people of all different ages, ethnicities, and races to congregate on one site and discuss their similarities and differences with one another. Since this site is accessible through both computers and mobile devices, it is even easier for people to connect with one another.

The website does not restrict people based upon certain restrictions nor does it require payment of any sort. The structure of the website allows for complete open access which allows for ideas and experiences to be freely shared. Also, since the website does not require it’s users to set up a profile, the users can stay as open or anonymous as they choose. Individuals have the option to freely discuss their experiences without feeling any shame or embarrassment. The Experience Project prides itself on being a free social networking site which strides to not limit or restrict its users. This website is an interactive, user friendly website that contains other features such as; personal stories, confessions, blogs, groups, photos, and videos. In addition, users could join certain communities based on their experiences and interests where they can interact with people who are similar to themselves.

Since The Experience Project is a relatively new site, it is not as popular as other social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace. Even though the popularity level may not be as high as other websites, this networking site is an excellent source for knowledge. Often time’s people experience certain events or issues that they find troubling or hard to deal with and feel that there is no place to turn to for answers. A site such as this one acts as the perfect source for answers to those questions. The Experience Project allows its users to be as open or anonymous as they choose, and can ask any question they desire by offering 24 different categories. This site is vast in its capabilities and has relatively limited restrictions which allow people to ask open and honest questions and answers.

Overall, The Experience Project is a unique website that serves as a source of answers for a plethora of individuals. As the site continues to grow in experiences, more people will discover the benefits that this site has to offer.
