GQueues

GQueues is a full-featured task manager that strides to make personal organization easier. GQueues uses a Google account to sign into the site but, Google is not affiliated with the contents of GQueues. The goal of this site is to simplify the organization process so that people can organize their everyday tasks. This tool allows you to enter in items onto your list as well as sub items pertaining to certain specifications.

Once you add an item to your list, you can customize it by adding a due date and a time if so desired. In addition, you can sync your items with Google calendar which allows for increased ease and accessibility. The design of this site is very simple, you can even drag and drop your items throughout your list based upon priority. Also, with GQueues Mobile you are able to manage your tasks while you are offline.

While the basic features of GQueues are free, not everything on the site is free. They offer email/SMS reminders, task assignments, and the advanced calendar integration for a subscription fee of $25 per year. However, they do offer a two week free trial for people to experience the benefits of adding this feature.

The tool is a great option for individuals but also is an extremely useful tool for team based environments. An individual can create tasks, sub-tasks, notes, and tags and share them with others. There is an option to share your list with others either as a viewer or as a collaborator. These two choices give a preference if you want others to edit your existing list or to simply view it and provide feedback if so desired. GQueues is a very user-friendly tool that acts similarly to a wiki page. Many times when teams are working together it is hard to communicate with one another when everyone is not physically present in one central location. This tool is an excellent way to visually see the tasks at hand, and team members can continually update the list if things are completed or need

to be added. A leader of a team could even delegate the tasks through hashtags and divvy up the responsibility throughout his or her team.

Overall, GQueues is an excellent tool that would help individuals organize their daily tasks. Since this tool allows for lists to be shared with others it serves as an excellent tool for not only individuals but teams as well. Since this site does not charge a fee to access it, I feel that this site will rapidly grow in popularity due to its practical use and convenience.

This link will provide you with step by step directions on how to use GQueues:

This illustration demonstrates the layout of this tool. On the left side panel, your tasks can be organized on a daily, weekly, or even on a monthly basis. You can title your lists as well to organize each set of tasks. The illustration highlights the use of subtask and the use of “#” in

order to categorize a task. When you look at the “My Queues” section, each list is separately titled and color coded. This feature is not only visually stimulating but it leads to increased organization. GQueues allows its users to modify the colors of the font and layout to fit the personality of the user.
