Etsy

Cowan states the importance of first impression, which is crucial concerning Websites or applications for cell phones. She also explained the importance of building trust with your viewers, by using web designs, navigation and making browsing easy and fast.

Etsy is a website and application that is available to use on Iphones, Ipad, Mac or any computer that has access to the Internet. Etsy is a shop in were people sell their items for very cheap. The majority of these items are handmade and very unique. Etsy has a category that gives the previous buyer an opportunity to describe your previous experience with a certain shop. Giving this a sense of trust for buyers who are new to the website. It is also very easy to search for needed items, the search button is right at the top of you can use the categories to search for a specific item; jewelry, phone cases, knitting and many more options!

The application and website Etsy also provides its users with a description about the shop you are visiting. These shops are run by regular people who either make stuff or want to get rid of vintage items. In this small description the person who owns the shop will tell you how they get their items, custom made or bought, quality. It also gives you a small description about the person and you have the opportunity to message if necessary. Re-assuring the viewer that it is a safe environment to shop and look around the website. 

Lastly the website provides security for their users. The most important feature when purchasing anything online is to be assured of fraud. In this case Etsy offers PayPal which is used all around the world and it is a safe and fast way to transfer money over when purchasing an item. When proceeding to make your payment a lock will appear on the top right hand corner of your webpage, this gives trust to their users, knowing their information is being protected by the website.
