Evolution of the World Wide Web

Web 1.0 was a very primal version of the social networking sites that we have today, users could only view webpages but were unable to "comment" on them. An example of this would be read-only contexts.
Web 2.0 was a bit more interactive, users are now able to interact with one another or contribute content of their own thoughts.
Web 3.0 is application programming  "promises the potential for applications that can speak to each other directly, and for broader searches for information through simpler interfaces."
